~Local PR firm selected for organization’s 100 year celebration events~

(San Antonio, TX) – The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of San Antonio is planning to spend the next year celebrating the 100 years they have been helping to empower women and eliminate racism in our city. They have selected Outside the Box Productions (OTB) to handle all public relations and marketing for the campaign.

OTB will use their experience and creativity to bring more awareness to the programs that the YWCA runs as well as highlight the history of the organization. While speaking about the selection of OTB, Special Events/Fundraising Committee Chair Robbye Floyd-Archibald said, “We needed a company whose expertise would give us an edge and highlight our organization and programs. Outside the Box’s experience and innovation will ensure our message about our rich 100 year history is communicated throughout our community.”

The 100 year celebration of the YWCA will feature an exhibit highlighting the past 100 years of how women evolved and made their mark on the city of San Antonio. The organization is now researching one or two local women who embrace that change to act as honorary chairs for the campaign. The exhibit will be held in the fall of 2010 at a still undetermined location. Alma Smith, CEO of the YWCA, said, “We know our choice for honorary chair will be difficult as San Antonio has had so many amazing women who have paved the way for the women of the 21st century, but we are confident we will find a great match to celebrate our 100 years!”

The YWCA of San Antonio is a 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1910 to develop personal empowerment and self sufficiency in women and their families. The organization’s mission is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Outside the Box is owned and operated by San Antonio woman, Wendy Welsh. Welsh started Outside the Box in 2002 and has been “making pigs fly” for her clients ever since. Welsh’s vision was to create a company that could design and execute unique events, strategic public relations campaigns and innovative advertising campaigns. “Being able to create excitement and positive energy for a living is a dream come true for me,” said Welsh. Welsh credits her success to building a great team that is always enthusiastically thinking Outside the Box!

Small firms can provide BIG results even in a struggling economy!

July 28th, 2009 Posted 3:50 pm

In the current economy, it’s time to cut out all the extras like advertising, public relations and events, right? WRONG!  Wendy Welsh, CEO of Outside the Box Productions, says it is critical for companies to continue their advertising and public relations efforts during an economic slowdown AND there are affordable ways to do this!

With budgets shrinking and shortfalls increasing, companies begin looking for the ‘fat’ to trim, often cutting advertising and public relations budgets.  “It is more important than ever to enlist a firm to create and execute a strategic communications plan,” said Welsh.  Many organizations simply can’t afford to pay the hefty retainer fees of a large agency.  Smaller firms are more cost effective, have less overhead and are therefore able to provide a greater amount of personal attention.

Companies may be used to working with large budgets and may wonder what can be accomplished with depleted funds.  Boutique firms are accustomed to getting creative with tight budgets to produce big results.

Outside the Box client M2 Technology has worked with the firm for three years.  Mark Martinez, CEO of M2 Technology, says Welsh’s team goes the extra mile for his company.  “The Outside the Box team always comes up with a way to implement their big ideas on a tight marketing budget,” said Martinez.

Outside the Box specializes in full service event planning, advertising and public relations.  Outside the Box is owned and operated by San Antonio woman, Wendy Welsh.  Welsh started Outside the Box in 2002 and has been “making pigs fly” for her clients ever since.  Welsh’s vision was to create a company that could design and execute unique events, strategic public relations campaigns, and innovative advertising campaigns.   “Being able to create excitement and positive energy for a living is a dream come true for me,” said Welsh.  Welsh credits her success to building a great team that is always enthusiastically thinking Outside the Box!
